Rom.5:8 “God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
We speak of the grace of God so frequently today and know it is there for us when we need it. God promises He will give it to us the moment we ask for His help and I have seen that demonstrated over and over. But…Maybe we have taken for granted or are even unable to fully understand the amazing Grace of God. And truly we will never completely understand it until our faith has become sight.
In order to help us understand the grace of God concerning our salvation, this illustration is given. The only beloved son of a man was violently killed by another young man. The father came to the young man who had killed his beloved son and said to him, “I forgive you for killing my only beloved son.” That was an act showing forgiveness.
But the same father also said, “I forgive you for killing my beloved son and will not press charges, you are free to go.” That was an act showing mercy. But the same father went on to say, “I forgive you for killing my beloved son. Please come live with me as my son. Live in my home, take of my food and inherit all that I have. I love you.” That, my friend, is grace.
God has shone and given to us that grace that is beyond human comprehension. Our sin slew His beloved Son and yet out of His great love towards us, He invites us to be His child, take of His sustenance and live with Him forever, inheriting all He has!
What a mighty God we serve! Do you know that grace He offers? If not, you can right now, by repenting of your sins and calling upon the Lord for salvation – He is the One who died in your place.  He will receive you and make you His child – that’s Amazing Grace.”
Wit and Wisdom – Salvation cost God dearly so for us it would be free.
