MEET THE DIRECTORS
Terry & Sally Sanders
The Costa Rica Lighthouse Children’s Home is located near the city of Tres Rios, Costa Rica about 10 miles east of San Jose. Sally and Terry Sanders are the Directors of the Costa Rica Home.
Sally has been a missionary in Costa Rica since 1985. She taught for four years at the seminary of Bible Baptist Church of Hatillo in San Jose. In 1989 the Lord directed her to step out by faith and open a children’s home in her house. In 1992, Sally partnered with Brother Larry Neff and the Lighthouse Children’s Homes Costa Rica was established. As a result, the Home moved from Cartago to it’s current property in Tres Rios. A large home was constructed and other buildings have been added over the years, including a school, apartments for visiting groups, and an open air gymnasium.
Sally not only serves as mother to abandoned and neglected children, she also speaks in Lady’s meetings, Mission Conferences, Vacation Bible Schools and other services where she shares her talent as a ventriloquist. Every year in December, Sally writes and directs a Christmas Drama that the children of the home performs for churches around the San Jose area
Terry has been a full-time evangelist since 1984. Terry has been totally blind since age 12. He preaches Revivals, Mission Conferences, Youth Camps etc. Although blind, he has traveled to many countries preaching. He also sings and plays the piano. Terry met Sally while holding meetings in Costa Rica. They were married in 2008. Together, their passion is to instill Christ in the children’s hearts in every way possible.
