The
Mississippi Lighthouse girls live in the Boone
Dormitory which was constructed in 1983.
This warm family setting encourages the
development of Christian character as broken
lives are mended. It can house up to 40 girls and
has a six-room apartment for the dorm parents,
Ron & Tara Black.

Ron & Tara Black are
fine Christians from Akron, Ohio. They are out of
Harmony Baptist Church in Tallmadge where Bernard
Christy is pastor. Ron served on the Summit
County Sheriff's Department as a deputy for 10
years. Ron and his wife worked on the Harmony
Baptist Church bus route for 5 plus years. God
began speaking to Ron and Tara in November 2004
about coming to minister at the Lighthouse
Children's Home. After much prayer, visiting here
two times, observing and receiving counsel from
their pastor, they knew that becoming dorm
parents was God's perfect will for their lives.
